The state of Telangana has not been witnessing good rains for quite some time now. So much so that rains almost remained absent from these areas. The residents of the state needed a few good spells of rain to get rid of the slightly uneasy weather conditions.
However, the past 24 hours have been a bumper day for some of the cities in the Telangana. It seems like rain gods have been a little too kind over isolated areas of the state. In fact, one or two places have recorded three digit rains as well.
One such city to have received very heavy rains during the last 24 hours is Ramagundam. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, the city witnessed a whopping 132 mm of rain.
These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is currently over Northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining areas of Coastal Odisha and West Bengal. Due to this system, moisture incursion had increased over the region.
However, rain intensity is expected to reduce from the region after 24 hours as the system is moving towards the eastern parts of the country.
