During the entire Southwest Monsoon, Rajasthan has been one of the best-performing states so far. Talking about the rainfall statistics, East Rajasthan is at present rain surplus by 41% while rain surplus for West Rajasthan stands at 29%.

Although the normal rainfall for Rajasthan is comparatively less than most of the Indian states but the state has managed to witness some very god spells during the first half month. This is primarily the reason that Rajasthan is currently enjoying the rain surplus.

However, weather of Rajasthan has remained dry since last many days. Yet, in a span of 24 hours, Kota and Udaipur have managed to witness some light spells. Wherein, Kota received 1 mm of wet spells while Udaipur recorded light spells of 1.8 mm only.

The cyclonic circulation which was over Gujarat has shifted towards southwest Madhya Pradesh, therefore, light scattered showers have occurred over adjoining parts of southeast Rajasthan.

The Westerly winds over North Rajasthan are dry in nature while in South and Central Rajasthan, winds are moving in southwesterly direction coming from the Arabian Sea. These winds are in turn enhancing the moisture content over the area.

In the wake of this weather system, in spite of dry weather condition since last many days over West Rajasthan, withdrawal of Monsoon has not yet begun.

As per Skymet Weather, now, there is a possibility of this cyclonic circulation to persist over Southwest Madhya Pradesh. Due to which scattered light rains are likely to continue over southeast Rajasthan for another 24 hours. However, most of the other regions are expected to remain dry.
