In the last 24 hours, violent dust storm activities occurred over many parts of Rajasthan especially over Jhunjhunu and its nearby areas. These areas witnessed heavy dust storm followed by rain and thundershowers. Places like Jaipur, Sikar, Alwar and Bharatpur also observed similar weather conditions.
These weather activities occurred in association with an induced cyclonic circulation that was over northwestern parts of Rajasthan. And a trough was extending from this system up to North Madhya Pradesh.
Now also we expect isolated dust storm and thunderstorm activities to occur over parts of North/Northeast Rajasthan. In fact, similar weather activities are likely to occur in parts of Rajasthan during the coming days week, as the successive Western Disturbances affecting the hills of North India will continue to induce cyclonic circulations/trough over parts of Rajasthan.
Even though these Pre-Monsoon activities will not be very severe in nature but will surely help to bring down the maximum temperatures to some extent. Thus, we can say that heat wave conditions will continue to abate from most parts of Rajasthan during the coming one week.
Yesterday, Jaisalmer recorded its day temperature at 43.6˚C, followed by Barmer 42.8˚C, Chittorgarh 42.4˚C, Kota 42.4˚C, Jodhpur 41.8˚C, Churu 41.7˚C and Bhilwara 41.4˚C.
