Both the months of June and July were extremely beneficial for the state of Rajasthan in terms of rainfall activities. Due to cyclone Biparjoy, and other systems coming closer to Rajasthan, the state was never short of rains during those two months.
As far as the month of August is concerned, there have been very few spells of rainfall activities for the state and west Rajasthan particularly has remained very dry. Even the last few days for the state of Rajasthan have been mostly dry and a similar situation is expected to be seen in the coming days as well.
The earlier surplus that the state had seen is now being consumed. West Rajasthan which was over a hundred percent surplus has now come down to 55% surplus and east Rajasthan is at normal levels at nil.
In the next two weeks, do not expect rains in the region and thereafter the withdrawal time will be seen coming closer. We foresee no weather system forming and also, the Monsoon trough will remain north its normal position, further resulting in reduced rains.
