Most parts of Rajasthan have been receiving good rains since October began. However, most parts of the state had witnessed some good showers yesterday as well.
During the last 24 hours, fairly widespread rains have occurred over many parts of Rajasthan particularly over the eastern and central parts of the state. Weather of north and West Rajasthan remained dry. However, places like Ajmer, Jaipur and Kota had witnessed good rains.
In a span of 24 hours, Ajmer witnessed 74.6 mm of rainfall, Sawai Madhopur observed 50 mm rainfall, Chittorgarh 28 mm, Udaipur 27.5 mm, Tonk 13.8 mm, Kota 13.4 mm, Jaipur 13.2 mm and Bundi witnessed 6 mm of light spells.
These hefty showers can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation over Saurashtra and Kutch along with adjoining South Rajasthan.
As of now, scattered rains are likely to continue over Rajasthan including parts of southeast region of the state for another 24 hours. Thereafter, there are possibility of developing an anti-cyclone over the western parts of the state.
Furthermore, dry winds from northwest direction are also likely to start reaching up to central and east Rajasthan and due to these northeasterly winds, the cyclonic circulation is expected to move towards south.
Hence, it can be concluded that that 24 hours hence, weather of Rajasthan is expected to go almost dry. However, isolated light showers are expected to continue over southeast part of the state for some time.
Humidity level will reduce thereby curtailing down the minimum temperatures as well over most parts of Rajasthan leading to further withdrawal of Monsoon.
