Temperatures over parts of West Rajasthan are significantly above normal whereas East Rajasthan is witnessing near normal temperatures. Day temperatures of Bikaner, Phalodi, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer and adjoining districts of Western Rajasthan are in in lower 30s.
On the other hand, Ajmer, Sikar, Churu, Bhilwara, Bundi, Jaipur, Alwar, Udaipur and Chittorgarh have maximum temperatures around in twenties. Minimum temperatures of West Rajasthan are also above normal.
Reason for these high temperatures can be attributed to the absence of northerly and northwesterly cold winds. We do not expect any significant change in temperature profile of Entire Rajasthan for at least next 2 to 3 days. Thereafter, winds from North will start growing across the state leading to drop in maximum and minimum by 2 to 3 degrees.
Northern districts of Rajasthan may witness gradual drop in minimum temperatures leading to formation frost.
