Not just Gujarat but Cyclone Maha is going to affect the weather over Rajasthan as well. We expect rains to commence over some parts of Rajasthan today. The intensity of these rains will remain light and will be observed in patches.
The reason behind these rains is the combined effect of the interaction of Western Disturbance and the outflow of Cyclone Maha. Due to Cyclone Maha, humid Southwesterly winds will feed moisture over many parts of Rajasthan. Moreover, an induced Cyclonic Circulation over central Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan will also contribute in increasing moisture over the region.
Due to the interaction of Western Disturbance, Cyclonic Circulation and humid winds due to Cyclone Maha, we expect scattered light winds to commence today over some parts of Rajasthan. The intensity of these rains will increase further tomorrow. This is when many parts of Rajasthan including the western and southern parts will experience light to moderate rains and thundershower activities.
These rains will help in reducing the maximum temperatures. However, minimums may increase by a couple of degrees.
Similar rains will also be observed over adjoining Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and NCR which will help in reducing the temperatures of these regions as well including that of Delhi NCR. These untimely rains are a very unusual weather phenomenon for Rajasthan Southern and Western districts of the state seldom receive rains at this time of the year, unlike this time.
