This season, the state of Uttar Pradesh has received good rains. While West Uttar Pradesh is excess in rains by 33%, East Uttar Pradesh is running excess by 17%- all thanks to successive active Western Disturbances. In the wake of these Western Disturbances, induced Cyclonic Circulation formed over Northern plains and gradually moving over Uttar Pradesh in the form of East-West Trough leading to on and off rain activities.
Now also, an induced Cyclonic Circulation has formed over Central Pakistan and adjoining area and a trough is extending up to Northwest Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, we expect, light rains over Northwest Uttar Pradesh during the next two days. Thereafter a Cyclonic Circulation is likely to develop over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Jharkhand. Therefore, light scattered rains are expected to continue over eastern parts of the state on February 21 to 24.
Short spell rain and thunder shower with gusty wind would occur over parts of Baghpat, Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Meerut, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Saharanpur, Sambhal and Shamli during the next 12-18 hours.
Isolated rains may continue over West Uttar Pradesh. However, entire rain episode will be patchy in nature and we do not expect any heavy rains to make an appearance. Chances of hailstorm over East Uttar Pradesh are also very less. Therefore, the weather is expected to remain comfortable throughout the next week.
