Delhi-NCR has been witnessing warm weather conditions since last week. In fact, both the maximum and minimum temperatures have been settling above the normal average.
All thanks to the warm and humid southwesterly or southerly winds from Arabian Sea that have been blowing over the northwestern plains. Moreover, a fresh Western Disturbance has also started affecting Jammu and Kashmir, which has induced a cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan and adjoining areas.
All the systems coupled together have further increased the moisture level over the region, leading further rise in mercury. Following are the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours.
According to Skymet Weather, we do not foresee any change in the temperature profile during the next 24 hours. Mercury will continue to increase by 1-2 degrees and on Saturday, weathermen predict that day maximum in Delhi may cross 24°C as well.
However, this rising trend of temperatures is likely to come to an end thereafter, as rains are approaching the national capital.
Delhi-NCR is likely to see some scattered light rain and thundershowers on Sunday. By then, the induced cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan will move over the northern plains.
Though rains will only stay for 24 hours, but mercury will start falling. The above normal temperatures will start crawling back to normal.
