If you are planning to tour the hills of North India the coming weekend, Skymet Weather urges you to think again. The Northern Hills are presently witnessing inclement weather conditions that are in no mood to ease out soon, predicts the weathermen at Skymet Weather.

Almost all the three states of northern hills are witnessing moderate to heavy rains and are expected to continue witnessing such showers until at least the weekend.

As per Skymet Weather, Southwest Monsoon has covered all the hilly states of North India. Monsoon had already covered Jammu and Kashmir a day before and today, it has made a further advancement by covering entire Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Let us take a look at the rainfall recorded by the famous hill spots of North India within the span of 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Wednesday in the table below:

Skymet Weather reiterates that these rains were a result of the Western Disturbance prevailing over Jammu & Kashmir and adjoining Himachal Pradesh.

Moreover, moderate to heavy rains are expected to continue over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and adjoining areas of Jammu & Kashmir for the next 24 hours as well.

However, thereafter, the intensity of these rains may reduce marginally but by June 30, heavy to very heavy rains would once again commence over Uttarakhand which is likely to continue until July 2.

Along with this, one or two rounds of heavy to very heavy rains are also possible over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh that may trigger flashfloods and mudslides. One or two incidents of cloudbursts may also be a chance and hence, visitors are advised to stay cautious and look out for the weather before traveling to the hills for another two to three days.
