The Madhya Maharashtra region has been witnessing dry weather conditions for quite some time now. So much so that the region has not witnessed much rains in the month of September. However, the region is still witnessing a rainfall surplus of 5 percent.
Now, rain gods have finally bestowed their kindness over the residents of Pune as well as Nashik. During the last 24 hours, light rains have made an appearance over both these cities. Now, more rains are expected to lash these cities of Madhya Maharashtra.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Nashik recorded 6 mm of rain. Meanwhile, light rains of 2.8 mm rainfall was recorded in Pune city.
These rains can be attributed to the weather system which was a low-pressure area in the morning. However, the system has become less marked. Now, the weather system is expected to move in a westward direction and move towards the Maharashtra region.
Thus, both Pune and Nashik are likely to witness good Monsoon rains during the next 24 to 48 hours. In fact, many parts of the Madhya Maharashtra region are expected to receive light to moderate Monsoon rains during the above mentioned time frame.
