Several parts of the country have been reeling under hot weather conditions, while people in the hilly terrains are relishing pleasant weather. On and off rains have been showing upon the northern hills for a long time now. Preferably, this is a good time to spectate the beauty of the damp hills of North India.
Last 24 hours were no different and rains of varying intensity drenched several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand. In fact, places like Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam have already witnessed a spell of rain on Tuesday morning. Further also, weather conditions continue to be favourable for rains and thundershowers to continue.
As per Skymet Weather, a fresh Western Disturbance has approached the Western Himalayan region. In the wake of this weather system, scattered rains along with thundershowers have shown up in parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Within a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Pahalgam witnessed 3.8 mm of rain, Gulmarg 4.8 mm, Katra and Batote 0.6 mm, while a few traces were observed at Jammu and Dharamsala.
Now, the intensity of rain is expected to increase within the next 24 hours and thus many parts of these hilly states may receive light to moderate showers. Isolated heavy showers also stand a strong chance to appear over one or two places.
These rains are expected to continue to lash the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand until April 6, reducing thereafter.
The rain intensity over these states will reduce by April 7 and by April 8, a clear weather is foreseen. Hence, until the weekend, this is the perfect time for the people to visit the hills.
