About 50.4mm of rainfall has been recorded at the city observatory and the total for the month now rises to 52.7mm. The monthly normal for Bengaluru is 41.5mm and more showers can be expected in the remaining days of this month.
The showers over Bengaluru for the last 48 hours were intermittent and intense but not evenly distributed over all the parts of the city. This is a typical pre-monsoon pattern and will be witnessed even for the next 7 days over most parts of Bengaluru. The day temperatures which earlier had crossed 37 degrees in the first 10 days of the month have dropped significantly. The maximum temperature yesterday was measured at 32.2 degrees for Bengaluru, about 3 degrees below normal, and expected to hover around that or even lower today as well.
Expect some good showers today over many parts of Bengaluru later in the day keeping the evening cool and night pleasant too. Even tomorrow sporadic showers are expected over some parts of Bengaluru, albeit less intense than today. Over the subsequent 2 days, on 25th and 26th April, showers over Bengaluru will become far and few and mostly of passing nature. Pre-monsoon activity will pick up once again for Bengaluru from 27th April onward and continue till the end of the month. This spell will have a large spread and intense too over most parts of Bengaluru.
