The intensity of rains has decreased over Rajasthan during the last 24 hours. But eastern districts such as Kota and Sawai Madhopur still managed to receive moderate rains. Scattered light rains occurred over the western parts.

At present, the Axis of Monsoon Trough is extending from West Rajasthan to Northeast Bay of Bengal. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over Gujarat. Therefore, we expect moderate rains to continue over these districts for the next 48 hours.

Thereafter, the Axis of Monsoon Trough will shift North. Therefore, the rain activities will also increase over North and Northwest districts like Churu, Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Dhaulpur and Bharatpur.

East Rajasthan will continue to get good rains for a week. Although the intensity of rain will remain light to very light over Jaisalmer, Barmer and Jodhpur areas. However, completely dry weather is ruled out.

During the last 24 hours, capital city Jaipur also managed to receive good rains. Although the main observatory in Jaipur only recorded 2 mm of rains, many other parts of the city have received good rains during the evening hours. Now, we expect these on and off rains to continue over Jaipur for the next few days.
