The current Western Disturbance has induced weather activities over parts of North India. Multiple cities such as Amritsar, Churu, Bikaner, Jaipur, Delhi NCR also recorded light rains during the last 24 hours.
Now, the Western Disturbance is moving away but its impact will be seen today as well over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. Although rains will be patchy and light in nature and will be observed only for a short duration.
Thereafter, the weather will clear up on March 22 and 23.
On March 24, another intense Western Disturbance will approach the Western Himalayas. This will start giving rains and thundershowers by the evening of March 24 initially over North Punjab and North Haryana. Thereafter, by the early morning of March 25, we expect rains and thundershowers to commence over many parts of North and West Rajasthan. Many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi NCR will see scattered rains.
These rains will lead to a marginal drop in temperatures over Delhi and NCR. Temperatures will drop in Punjab and Haryana as well by about three to four degrees. This will be the third intense Western Disturbance affecting the Himalayas in the month of March.
These rains and thundershower activities are expected to continue until evening or night of March 25. Thereafter, weather will once again clear up leading to bright sunshine and clear sky.
However, remnants of the Western Disturbance may continue to give isolated thunderstorm activities over parts of Punjab on March 26 also.
