Good rain is going on over many districts of Madhya Pradesh for the last many days. However heavy to extremely heavy rain is still missing. In fact heavy to very heavy rain does not give any benefit to the farming community as it leads to flash floods and waterlogging which usually damage the crops.
A low-pressure area has travelled from North East Madhya Pradesh to northwest Madhya Pradesh and now it is over central parts of South Uttar Pradesh. Its impact will be felt over Northern parts of the state in terms of moderate to heavy rain. Scattered light to moderate rain will continue over most parts of the state for at least next week. These ongoing rains will certainly help the sowing and sustain the already sown crops.
Rein activities over Chhattisgarh have not been uniform until now. Chhattisgarh remained rain deficient by around 10% in the month of June. Now rain will increase over the state of Chhattisgarh in the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy spells is expected to continue over Chhattisgarh during next week. We can say that Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will continue to receive good rain activities during the initial 10 days of July. This is a very good sign for the agricultural community as initial period of June is very crucial for the crops.
