The central as well as the northern parts of the country have been receiving intense weather activities since the last few days. However, as far as the weather of eastern part of the country is concerned, it remained almost dry with just about isolated light rain over East Uttar Pradesh as well as Bihar.
Now, the rain belt is expected start shifting towards East India. A trough is expected to develop from Vidarbha to Bihar across southeast Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
Scattered rains are expected over eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh as well as isolated pockets of Bihar and Jharkhand by January 9. And by January 10, many parts of Bihar, Jharkhand as well as isolated pockets of West Bengal and Odisha will start receiving rain.
Between January 11 and 14 there may be light to moderate rain over many parts of Eastern states. Odisha may receive few moderate to heavy spells during January 13 and 14.
