While rains are likely to make an appearance over several parts of Peninsular India, the Western Himalayas will also not be left far behind as a fresh Western Disturbance is just round the corner.
The coming week will also bring some good news to the residents of Northwest, Central and East India.
Moist and warm southerly winds are expected to reach up to Central India. The persisting trough extending from West Assam to Chhattisgarh across Bangladesh, West Bengal and Jharkhand will merge in Central India close to West Madhya Pradesh.
The moist flow of winds will continue from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal and will reach up to South Madhya Pradesh. Thus, rainfall will occur over parts of Madhya Pradesh on February 15 and 16. The spread of rain will also increase over Chhattisgarh, which is already receiving good rains.
Furthermore, the rain belt will shift towards Rajasthan and rainfall activity will begin on February 16 and continue over the desert state for 24 to 48 hours. After that, the Northwestern Plains including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and adjoining areas will also see some rain.
Parts of East India including Jharkhand has already been receiving rain. More rain will occur over Jharkhand during the next 24 hours. Winter has almost abated from this region, and warm and moist winds have been blowing over the area.
The intensity of rain will decrease over these regions after three to four days. Maximum and minimum temperatures will continue to remain in the same range with a slight change during the next 2 to 3 days.
