Therefore, it has already surpassed its normal rain for the month of May which is 107.4 mm. Bengaluru has recorded 148 mm of total rainfall till now. Furthermore, the second half of the week is expected to record more rains and may exceed 200 mm which will be equivalent to double of the monthly rainfall for May.

Since May 10, good rainfall activity has been going on in Bengaluru. On May 12, the weather remained dry but only for 24 hours.

The heaviest rainfall recorded for this month was on May 10 which was 50 mm.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Bengaluru recorded 17.9 mm of rain. The city’s maximum temperature yesterday, was recorded at 32.0 which was 2 degrees below normal and minimum temperature recorded was 21 and was 1 degree below normal.

The reason for these rains can be attributed to the active Cyclonic Circulation over Comorin and the trough which extends till interior parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Mostly, the activities are also heat triggered.

Therefore, we can say that a rainy week is ahead for the city of Bengaluru. Thus, afternoons will be warm, but the weather is expected to remain pleasant during the morning and evening hours. Spells of rain and thundershowers are most likely to occur during the late hours.
