As per Skymet Weather, the reason for good rains over Konkan division can be associated with the offshore trough running from North Maharashtra to North Kerala coast. Along with this, a cyclonic circulation is also persisting over South Gujarat.

In the wake of this, we expect, moderate to heavy showers to continue over Konkan region in places like Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Harnai, Dahanu, and Mahabaleshwar. Additionally, few good spells are also possible over the regions of Madhya Maharashtra. Hence, places like Pune, Nashik, Malegaon, Kolhapur, and Satara may also receive light to moderate spells.
Moreover, moderate to heavy showers are also likely to continue over parts of Vidarbha. Gradually, the cyclonic circulation which is in Northwest Bay of Bengal would move towards Maharashtra, leading to an increase in rains over Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra in the next 24 to 48 hours.
At this stage, let us see the impact of this weather on the agriculture belt of Maharashtra:
Farmers in Marathwada and Vidarbha regions are advised to complete the sowing of Soybean, Cotton, Maize, Bajra, and Tur. Farmers in Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra are recommended to complete sowing of Paddy, and Sugarcane.
Soybean and Cotton sown in June 1st week are almost 20-25 days old, therefore, in these crop weeding should be done and are to be dressed in sufficient quantity of fertilizers. In Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra region, farmers are advised to drain out excess water from Paddy and Sugarcane field.
