The national capital Delhi and its neighboring areas have once again started witnessing scattered rain and thundershower activities. The activity is expected to continue till March 4, with intensity tapering gradually. These intermittent rains would be scattered in nature. However, some intense spells could be witnessed over one or two pockets during this period. Isolated hailstorm activities are also possible over Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad.
During these rains, the day temperatures are likely to fall by a couple of degrees, whereas minimums might see a marginal rise. March 5 onward, the minimums will once again start dipping. But, March 7 onward, mercury will begin rising and summers will finally set in.
According to weathermen, this is the last good spell of Winter rain, as the Western Disturbance will start taking the northerly routes and affect the upper latitudes. The effect of Western Disturbances as well as induced Cyclonic Circulation will start reducing over the Northern Plains including Delhi and NCR.
Talking about pollution, the levels have been hovering in satisfactory to moderate category. These rains would help in sustaining these levels for the coming four to five days. We can conclude by saying that the end of winter season would be pollution free this time due to rains.
