Northeast India has been witnessing dry weather conditions for the past one week while northern and central, as well as eastern regions saw good rainfall activities for the past two days.
However, now, the same system which has been causing rainfall over East India is moving away. Thus, the passage of this system has pushed the seasonal anti cyclone to coastal parts of Odisha and adjoining Bay of Bengal.
With that, wind pattern has changed, and southwesterly winds are reaching entire Northeast India. Due to this, we expect this dry spell to break and entire Northeast India is expected to witness rainfall activities today. These showers are expected to be light to moderate in nature over the seven sisters with Arunachal Pradesh and upper regions of Assam observing heavy rain.
By tomorrow, the rain intensity will reduce and remain light in nature with Arunachal Pradesh and Upper Assam seeing some moderate spells of rains. Both today and tomorrow will see lightning, thunderstorm and strong winds in many parts.
Thereafter, weather will clear up over most parts of Northeast India. However, on both February 1 and 2, Arunachal Pradesh and Upper Assam will continue to see rains even then. Clearance will be seen o the subsequent day.
