The state of Rajasthan, starting today will see rainfall activity which will continue for some time. Today, most parts will see rains, particularly the western region. Tomorrow, rainfall may vacate the western parts but still persist over northern and eastern parts of the state. By March 31, rains will only be seen over the northern parts and probably over northeastern parts which are in the proximity of Delhi and NCR region.
The reason for these rains is attributed to a Western Disturbance over the Western Himalayan region and an active induced Cyclonic Circulation is moving from across the borders to the western parts of Rajasthan and adjoining areas. The Circulation will persist over the region for the next two to three days, with slight movement.
Gusty winds, hailstorm, thunderstorm along with rains are expected to be seen during this period over Rajasthan. Farmers need to beware as both standing and unsecured harvested crops will be affected.
Though it is the fag end of March when temperatures are usually high, due to this spell, temperatures will remain suppressed and be in the mid 30s only.
