Rainy Republic Day Expected In Central India

Parts of southeast Rajasthan along with areas in central and north Madhya Pradesh are expected to receive moderate to good rainfall on Republic Day. A cyclonic circulation is currently seated in the region and is expected to combine with south-westerly moist winds from the Arabian Sea and south-easterly moist winds from the Bay of Bengal to provide rain around January 26 and 27.

The cities of Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh (MP) are expected to receive rain. Places like Kota and Chittorgarh in Rajasthan are also set to receive rain. The incoming moisture feed from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal will increase the level of moisture in the region, and will induce cloud formation in these parts. This will provide fairly widespread rain in parts of southeast Rajasthan along with central and north MP. Isolated areas in west MP may also witness hailstorms.

Day temperatures in the rain affected areas are expected to dip by 4 to 6°C. Cloud cover will persist throughout the day and intermittent spells of rain will not allow day temperatures to rise. This will give birth to cold day conditions in the region with the difference between maximum and minimum temperature being minimal.

The conditions are expected to continue for 24 to 48 hours. Gradually, the rain belt will shift towards east MP, Chattisgarh, and central Uttar Pradesh. Thus it can be said hat the residents of southeast Rajasthan and central and north Madhya Pradesh can expect a rainy Republic Day.
