The state of Uttar Pradesh has been seeing heavy to very heavy rains in the last 24 hours. Moreover, good rains are expected to continue over the state even today.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Agra recorded 60 mm of rainfall, Bareilly 46.6 mm rains, Fursatganj 31 mm, Moradabad 46 mm, and Varanasi 25.8 mm of rainfall.
All thanks to the low-pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal which has now intensified into a well-marked low pressure area and is presently over North Odisha and adjoining Northwest Bay. The system is expected to gradually move in a northwesterly direction.
In view of the movement of this system, rains will increase over the state of Uttar Pradesh. This well marked ow will gradually weaken and will lie as a low pressure over Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently, the system may further weaken into a cyclonic circulation.
Therefore, we expect fairly widespread rains to continue over many parts of the state in the coming days. Another low pressure area is expected to develop over Northwest Bay of Bengal around August 31 and will follow a similar track causing the rains to continue over many parts of the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Now, as per weathermen, on and off good rains will continue over the state until the first week of September due to which rain stats over Uttar Pradesh which are already in the normal range will further see an improvement.
