Rains in Northeast India have been continuing for the past couple of days and are expected to persist for some more time. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Dibrugarh recorded 70 mm of rain, Pasighat 52 mm, Lengpui 72 mm, and Tezpur 19 mm.
The Monsoon trough is north of its normal position, running along the foothills due to which Northeast India will see some rainfall activities.
Assam, Arunachal Pradesh as well as Meghalaya will see some good showers. Meanwhile, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura may also see some rain during the next few days.
Similar pattern is expected to continue for the next few days wherein isolated heavy showers may also be seen. Rains will mostly be seen during the evening and night hours and also during the early morning hours.
Continuous activity may lead to some problems in terms of connectivity due to the mountaneous terrain.
