Delhi and the NCR region had observed a dry spell for the past many days which has been broken now. National capital has seen some intense rains last night and early morning. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Safdarjung observatory recorded 37 mm of rain.
The NCR region also saw some intense rainfall activity wherein Noida so such heavy rains that traffic snarls became common and schools had to be shut today.
Rains will continue until the end of July. of varied intensity and may spillover to the first few days of August. These rainfall activities are attributed to the oscillation of the western end of the trough. Intermittent moderate rainfall activity mixed with isolated heavy spells will be seen even tomorrow with lightning and thunder storm as well.
