Rainy days to continue along the West Coast

The West Coast which consists of areas including Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala is the rainiest pocket in the country. During the Southwest Monsoon season, this region receives the most amount of rains as compared to other parts of the country.

This time also, rains have remained on the higher side only and good rainfall activity has been recorded throughout the West Coast.

The last 24 hours were not any different and moderate to heavy rainfall was recorded over many parts of West Coast.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Agumbe recorded 110 mm of rainfall, followed by Matheran at 88 mm. Other parts of West Coast which recorded good rains include Mahabaleshwar at 71 mm, Kannur 25 mm, Shirali 30 mm, Thane 25 mm. Mumbai rains were moderate with Santa Cruz witnessing 19 mm of rains.

Now as per weathermen at Skymet weather, moderate to heavy rainfall activity is expected to continue throughout the West Coast. Mumbai rains are likely to remain between light and moderate in intensity.

However, rainfall activity will be lesser over Konkan and Goa region and on the higher side or coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
