A Cyclonic Circulation is over east Bihar and adjoining Jharkhand and West Bengal. Fairly widespread light to moderate rain-thundershower activity will continue over northeast India.

Few places may receive hailstorm activity over parts of Northeast India and sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Isolated hilly regions of Arunachal Pradesh may receive snowfall.

This weather activity will continue for the next 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter the region will see a gradual decrease.

During the last 24 hour. Light to moderate rain-thundershower has occurred over many places. Below is the list of place and the rainfall in these places.

Updated on March 27, 2016: Northeast and East India have been reeling under hot and dry conditions for the past few days.

Both minimum and maximum temperatures have been comparatively on the higher side.

Areas particularly Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha have been recording high maximums.

Presently, a cyclonic circulation is over Jharkhand and adjoining areas. A trough from this system is extending up to Central India.

Another trough is running from Assam to Odisha across Jharkhand. Both the troughs are likely to merge and shift towards the Northeast region.

During the next 48-72 hours, parts of Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha are likely to observe isolated rainfall activity. Squally winds of 60 kmph gusting up to 90 kmph are likely to affect the region. The intensity of these rains will be light to moderate.

Northeast India will also receive good showers during this period. Rains are likely to begin tomorrow onward and will continue for another 72 hours. The intensity of rains will increase over the region after March 29. Some areas can also observe a few heavy spells.

Thereafter, the intensity of rains will significantly reduce. These rains will result in the drop of temperatures over both East and Northeast India.
