The state of Odisha has not seen the greatest Monsoon performance so far. In fact, from June 1 until August 31, the state is observing a deficiency of 14 percent.
However, things are looking good for the state in the coming days. Currently, a cyclonic circulation is over Northeast Bay and adjoining areas. The system will further get more organized and shift over the top end of Bay, with a southwestward tilt up to the medium levels.
Under the influence of the system a low pressure is likely to form and the system will hover over the same region till 07-08 September closer to the coast of Odisha.
Thus, rains will begin today itself, beginning with some moderate showers. Intensity and spread will increase thereafter as the system will meander around teh same region.
The southern half of the state will see more rains than the northern half. Due to these rains, the rain deficiency for Odisha will catch up in the coming days.
