Month of October is the rainiest month for Bengaluru in the northeast monsoon season. The monsoon rains start receding in the month of November and become the least in December. Still, the month of November has an average of 48.9mm of rainfall. The city has gathered only 21.4mm rainfall, so far in the month. The capital city has mostly been dry for the last two weeks. No significant rainfall is expected today and therefore, November may close far below the average, less than half the normal.

There are conditions building up for light to moderate rain and showers over the weekend and next week, as well. Rains will not be very hefty but a few sharp and intense showers can not be ruled out during this period. The spread and intensity of showers could be more on 03rd, 04th and 5th Dec, than the other days. The month of December has a normal of 15.7mm rainfall and this will be within reach of this wet spell.

Courtesy, deep depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, the South Peninsular region will have increase in the weather activity. The weather system will move northwestward and cross the Tamil Nadu coast, close to Puducherry-Karaikal, tomorrow morning. The system will weaken after making landfall but, is still strong enough to have decent showers over and around Bengaluru. The weather system will largely impact the interiors of Tamil Nadu and adjacent Kerala over the South Peninsula. The weakened system will cross over to the Arabian Sea as a low-pressure area or cyclonic circulation. Wind stream from the Arabian Sea will become favourable for monsoon showers to reach South Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema. Bengaluru, Mysuru and Mandya regions will become a favourite for a few spells of brief but intense showers. The month of December may start on a wet note for the tech city of Bengaluru.
