Bengaluru has had a hatrick of excess rains during all three Monsoon months so far. In June Bengaluru recorded 207.1 mm against the average of 106.5 m. Bengaluru does not rain heavily during Monsoon months. July's average stands at 112.9 mm and it recorded 191 mm. The normal rains for the city in August stands at 147 mm and it has received 234.4 mm as of today.
During the last 24 hours, Bengaluru has seen 44 mm of rains. More rains are likely wherein good showers are expected. Today, decent showers with one odd heavy spells are likely.
Remaining days, from August 29-31, even rolling over to September, good showers may be seen, reducing thereafter, i.e. around 3rd september. A Cyclonic Circulation will move in over central parts of South Peninsula, due to which rains may be seen.
Talking about records, the rainiest August has been in 2017 when rains were at 351.8 mm, it may not reach there but it has already become the second rainiest on record.
