The state of Uttarakhand has not seen any significant activity in the past 24 hours with just about the city of Dehradun recording 15 mm of rainfall. However, that is all set to change as rains are approaching the Uttarakhand region again.
A fresh Western Disturbance has approached the hills. The Monsoon trough is also running in proximity of Uttarakhand. The combined effect of these features will result in rains over Uttarakhand. Himachal Pradesh will also see scattered activity.
Uttarakhand will be more prone to activities. Today, rains will be slightly less, but the rain intensity will increase by tomorrow and thereafter increase even further on July 22.
The Kumaon hills and the foothills will be more susceptible to rain as compared to other parts of Uttarakhand. The possibility of rain related woes including landslides, mudslides etc. cannot be ruled out.
