Rainy days coming up for Northeast India

Northeast India this time has not seen a lot of rain this Monsoon season after the month of June. As of now, Northeast and East India are the most deficient. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura region is deficient by 25 per cent, Arunachal Pradesh is deficient by 18 per cent, and Assam and Meghalaya stand at 5 per cent deficiency.

This region has not seen surplus rains. However now, the Monsoon trough has shifted close to the foothills, right from western to eastern end. There are embedded Cyclonic Circulations in the trough as well. The trough will remain there as it needs a system in Bay to oscillate,

With this, Assam valley and Arunachal Pradesh along with other parts of Northeast India may see some rains in the next few days. August 31, heavy spells may be seen in parts of Northeast India. Persistent rains raises alarm for rise in water levels, particularly Brahmaputra.
