In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Dharamshala recorded a good of 57 mm, Jammu 31 mm, Haridwar 20 mm, Sundernagar 17 mm, Una 12 mm, Katra 12 mm, Nainital 10 mm, Pantnagar 10 mm, Bhadarwah 7 mm and Mukteshwar 6 mm.

Now, weatherman of Skymet Weather is of high anticipation that moderate rain with one or two heavy spells will endure over the state of Uttarakhand for at least the next two to three days.

On the other hand, the rain would be marginally fewer over the eastern parts of Himachal Pradesh and isolated over Jammu and Kashmir. Thus, the weather of Srinagar and Pahalgam would remain mostly dry. In the meantime, there are possibilities of light rain over Vaishno Devi and Katra. But these showers would not be a deterrent to the pilgrims that are scheduling to visit the Holy Shrine.

Likewise, Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh is most expected to observe short spell of rain.

The intensity of the rain would be moderate to heavy over Nainital, Tehri and Pithoragarh. Similarly, scattered showers of light intensity are likely to whip Haridwar, Mussoorie and Dehradun.

Consequently, if you are planning for the weekend holiday to the captivating hills of Uttarakhand, it’s not a good idea as there are likelihoods of good rain and thundershowers to continue for the next one week over the state.

As on July 31, the state of Jammu & Kashmir has received near the normal rains with deficiency of just 1%. Correspondingly, Himachal Pradesh stand rain surplus by 11and Uttarakhand 8%.
