During last many days, East India was witnessing dry weather conditions. However, isolated rains were going on over coastal parts of Odisha.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, rains have increased over the state of Odisha and light to moderate rains with isolated rains have occurred. Gangetic West Bengal also received scattered light to moderate rains.

Now, on and off rains will continue over Gangetic West Bengal, parts of Jharkhand as well as Odisha. After 24 to 48 hours, rainfall activity may increase over parts of Bihar along with East Uttar Pradesh witnessing scattered light rains.

Low Pressure will develop over Southwest Bay of Bengal around October 21 and will gradually travel along the coast towards Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Thus, rains will increase by October 21 and 22 over Odisha.

Between October 23 and 25, moderate to heavy rains are expected over many parts of Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata. Scattered rains will be seen over Jharkhand, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh during that time.

Thus, it is safe to say that Post Monsoon rains will once again increase over eastern parts of the country after October 20 and will continue until October 25. Scattered rains even before that will be seen over Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal as well as Odisha.
