Rainy days ahead for Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh

June 26, 2017 6:15 PM |

Rain

Southwest Monsoon 2017 has finally covered Vidarbha, parts of East Madhya Pradesh and entire Chhattisgarh. However, Vidarbha continues to remain deficient by 20 percent, Chhattisgarh by 13 percent, and East Madhya Pradesh by 36 percent. The only meteorological region out of these which happens to be surplus is West Madhya Pradesh at 19 percent.

Onset of Monsoon was delayed over almost entire Central India by around one week. Though on and off Pre-Monsoon activities were going on over all these areas, but they were not enough to sustain the rain normals over the region.

Now, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over the Jharkhand and adjoining Chhattisgarh region which will move in a westerly direction.

A trough is also running from northern plains to Bay of Bengal across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Therefore, we expect moderate showers at many places of Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha for the next 48 hours.

Thereafter, rains will reduce over South Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. However, it will continue over East Madhya Pradesh for next few days.  In other words, central India will receive good rains for next three to four days due to which rain deficiency of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh will come down and rain surplus of West Madhya Pradesh will further increase.
