As per Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Digha which is a district in Gangetic West Bengal. In the wake of this, one or two good spells of rain are expected to continue lashing Kolkata and adjoining parts of Gangetic West Bengal for the next 48 hours. However, these rains will not be in continuity and will be of a short duration.

Skymet Weather further reiterates that after 48 hours, a cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over Jharkhand and adjoining Chhattisgarh. Moreover, the eastern end of the axis of Monsoon trough is also expected to shift towards the south. On account of this, the intensity of rains over Kolkata and adjoining regions of West Bengal may reduce.
However, isolated rains in pockets are still anticipated to continue occasionally. Pleasant weather is expected for the city but overall humid weather will prevail.
