Rainy affair of Hyderabad likely to continue

The rainy spell does not seem to end for Hyderabad so early. The trail of rains that began lashing the city of Nizams from the very first day of October has continued until the last day as well. Though the intensity of these rains has kept on changing and rains from very light to light and moderate spells were recorded by the state capital.

In fact, the other districts of Telangana have also been witnessing the varied intensity of rains during the month of October. In the last 24 hours also, light to moderate with isolated heavy showers were observed by most parts of the youngest state of the country.

Within the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am as on Monday, Nizamabad recorded heavy rains to the tune of 75 mm, Hyderabad recorded 38 mm of rains, Ramagundam 29 mm, and Medak witnessed 3 mm of rainy spells. These rains even resulted in water logging and traffic chaos in some parts of the city.

As per Skymet Weather, an east-west trough is extending from Madhya Maharashtra to coastal Andhra Pradesh. This trough is likely to persist for another 24-48 hours. Thereafter, a cyclonic circulation is also expected to develop over Andhra Pradesh coast.

This weather system will move towards Telangana resulting in some more moderate showers over many parts of the state. These rains are expected to continue over Telangana for the next 3-4 days. In fact, Hyderabad will also receive good spell of rains for the next 3-4 days. Submerged roads and waterlogging is also a chance. On and off showers will continue to drench the city and any relief from these rains are anticipated by October 14.
