Presently, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Northeast Bihar and another Cyclonic Circulation is over Assam. A trough can be seen connecting these two circulations. Along with this, moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal is seen affecting these regions. Thus, rain and thundershowers are expected at many places in East Bihar, North Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast states. Places like Kishanganj, Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Darjeeling, Cooch Behar, Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Shillong, Kohima, Agartala and Gangtok would be affected.
While, spell of rain and thundershower with strong winds (40-60 kmph) will affect some places like Alipurduar, Birbhum, Dakshin Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Cooch Behar, Maldah, Murshidabad and Uttar Dinajpur during next 3-4 hours.
These weather activities are expected to enhance in next 48 hours. With this, moderate rain and thundershowers with isolated heavy spells and squalls could be a sight. The wind speed might touch 60-70 kmph on gust. Also, moderate lightning might affect some parts of the area. These systems on moving further would weaken gradually and activity would then eventually recede. Light to moderate rains will be a sight on April 14 and 15, while on April 16 activities are expected to reduce. Initially the temperatures might go up by two to three degrees. Once the activities pick up pace they might help in bringing down mercury towards normal or marginally below normal at some places.
