Ahmedabad Rain

The city of Ahmedabad is witnessing hot and dry weather conditions. So much so that the mercury levels have gone beyond the 40-degree mark. On Thursday, the maximum temperature that the city recorded was 39.9°C which is two notches above the normal levels.

During this month, few good spells of rain occurred over many parts of Gujarat between June 8 and 10. Ahmedabad also received good rains to the tune of 10 mm on June 9. However, these rains remained confined to the south and central parts of the state.

Since June 10, Ahmedabad is witnessing hot and dry weather conditions and we do not expect any significant change in the situation for at least next few days. Temperatures may rise marginally. However, around June 19 and 20, a fresh Monsoon surge is likely to make an appearance over West Coast.

This surge is expected to enhance the rainfall activity over parts of Gujarat including Ahmedabad. Soon after, Southwest Monsoon 2017 will make an onset over some more parts of Gujarat. Ahmedabad will also witness Monsoon rains.
