The state of Gujarat had gone through intense rainy spells, about two to three such episodes during this Monsoon season. Last few days also saw some intense rainy spells.
The reason for such rains is because Gujarat has been seeing a series of weather systems which originated outside the eastern coast line, moving across central parts and lashing the state with intense rainfall.
Saurashtra and Kutch have been battered more as compared to other parts. Now, relief is in cards for the state, which will be for a longer period of time, about more than a week. There is a Low Pressure Area over Northwest Arabian Sea but that system is too far from reaching the coastal parts of Gujarat. The system will further away.
Today, some light to moderate rains may be seen over central parts of Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara etc. Otherwise, other parts may see only light rains. In the next few days, only light rains will be seen. Heat conditions will not build up, but humidity will remain in many parts.
