More or less the entire region of Northeast India has been witnessing dry weather conditions since past few days. However, now the weathermen expect rain to increase significantly over NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura).

These aforementioned states will witness light to moderate showers with one or two heavy spells until October 31. During the similar time period, scattered light rain and thundershowers will also appear over the rest of northeastern states namely Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
Thereafter, rains will again reduce significantly and only isolated light rain is likely to occur over the so-called ‘seven-sister states’. But, the states of Manipur and Mizoram will continue to see occasional light to moderate rain and thundershowers activities.

Presently, the Northeast Monsoon has finally commenced and the northeasterly winds have strengthened over the region. However, the districts of these states have failed to record any significant rain activity within the span of 24 hours.
Additionally, a cyclonic circulation is seen persisting over southeast parts of Bangladesh and adjoining area. With this, we can hope for good rains to commence soon over the ‘seven-sister states’.
With the northeasterly winds prevailing over the state, day maximums are likely to fall marginally over most parts. The weather will remain mainly comfortable with pleasant morning and nights.
