The foggy and chilly days are now over for the country and the dry spell has been prevalent over almost the entire nation. The northern and northwest region of the country is also under the influence of dry weather conditions.
While almost the entire country has been reeling under dry weather conditions, parts of northwest Rajasthan along with North Haryana and North Punjab have witnessed showers at a few places.
In last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Sunday, both Chandigarh and Ambala have observed light traces of rains. The reason for these light showers can be associated with the Western Disturbance which was affecting the Western Himalayas and was seen over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining North Pakistan.
However, now, this weather system is moving away. However, its effect is likely to be felt in parts of Punjab and Haryana.
Thus, rain and thundershowers are expected at many places over North Punjab. Moreover, northeast Haryana may also witness some rain and thundershower activities though the intensity of these rains will be light in nature.
At present, West Punjab and Haryana are already observing a fall in temperatures and now, other parts of both these states are also likely to follow the suit. Temperatures are also expected to witness a drop by 3-4 degrees in another 48 hours.
