Nashik had been receiving on and off rains since the beginning of July. While rains remained light in nature, during the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Nashik recorded 26.4 mm of rain and as of now, it has added another 11 mm of rain.
These rains can be attributed to the prevailing system that has moved northwards and currently lying over North Madhya Pradesh and the trough extending from Punjab to Northwest Bay of Bengal across Central India.
As per Skymet Weather, the present-day situation indicates improvement of weather over most parts of Maharashtra. Also, the rain will gradually decrease over maximum parts of the state including Nashik.
For the past few days, Nashik and other parts of Madhya Maharashtra have been receiving subdued rains. So much so that Madhya Maharashtra is the only sub division to have recorded deficit rains at 10 percent. However, during the next 24 hours, light rainy spells will continue over Nashik and the temperature will rise marginally giving rise to cloudy to partly cloudy sky.
