The west coast of the country has been receiving very good rains in the month of July. At present too for the next few days, it is likely to continue to witness good rain and thundershower activities. Presently, an offshore trough which is seen extending from Gujarat Coast up to North Kerala.
Due to this weather system, moderate rains with isolated heavy showers are likely over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai along with Coastal Karnataka. Similarly, light rains with isolated moderate showers are possible over North Kerala and Coastal Karnataka. However, the intensity over Kerala region is now expected to reduce marginally during the next 24 hours.

Since the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Diu recorded 51 mm of rainfall, Alibag 39 mm, Mumbai 28 mm, Dahanu 27 mm, Harnai 14 mm, Mangalore 10.4 mm, Thane 10 mm, Madikeri 9 mm, Cannur and Shirali 8 mm, Alappuzha 7 mm, Honavar 5.6 mm, Veraval 5 mm, Karipur, Karwar and Goa recorded 4 mm, Kozhikode, Vengurla and Ratnagiri at 3 mm, Cochin and Porbandar at 2 mm, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram at 1 mm and Okha 0.7 mm.

As on July 22, Konkan and Goa region is rain surplus by 18% and Ratnagiri by 10%. However, Mumbai and Coastal Karnataka are rain deficit by 8% and 10% respectively.
