The rainy spells have vacated entire South Peninsula and mostly dry weather conditions are now prevailing over Tamil Nadu, Karnataka , Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
During the last 24 hours, few places of South Kerala has experienced moderate rainfall while isolated light rains were observed over Tamil Nadu and rest parts of Kerala.
Trivandrum in Kerala has recorded 29.6 mm of rainfall in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, while Atiramapattinam in Tamil Nadu has recorded only 0.2 mm of rainfall. On the other hand, trace rainfall was recorded over Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu during the last 24 hours.
Moreover, haziness also prevailed over most parts of these areas during morning hours while mist was observed over some pockets.Morning temperatures have increased by 1℃-2℃over the interior parts of these states.
At present, a cyclonic circulation is present over Southwest Bay of Bengal in proximity to Sri Lanka. Further, a trough extending from Southeast Arabian sea to Madhya Pradesh across Maharashtra is moving towards northeast directions. Thus, rainfall activities will decrease further over most parts of South Peninsula as moisture would now concentrate over these region. However, due a mixing of two air masses in parts of Telangana, Karnataka and adjoining areas, light rains and thundershowers for a short period may occur over parts of Telangana and North Karnataka.
Moreover, light isolated rains are also possible over parts of South Tamil Nadu, Coastal Kerala and over a few places of Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Due to a very light intensity of these activities, mainly dry and comfortable weather will prevail over entire South Peninsula.
On the other hand, coastal stations of Karnataka and adjoining North Kerala will witness very warm conditions.
