While most parts of the country are witnessing light to moderate rains, despite the arrival of Monsoon, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are not witnessing many good showers. Though the districts in coastal Andhra Pradesh have recorded good showers as compared with the interior regions.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Kakinada recorded heavy rains of 62 mm, Bhadrachalam 30 mm, Vishakhapatnam 7.2 mm and Ramagundam witnessed 6.8 m of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, the reason for these light to moderate rains over the districts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation that is over North Andhra Pradesh Coast and adjoining south Odisha coast. This weather system was responsible for pulling don rains over both the states.

However, now this weather system has moved northeastwards and is presently lying close to the North Odisha coast. Hence, rain and thundershower activity are expected to reduce along the Andhra Pradesh coast. Though, light rains with a few isolated moderate spells will continue to bless North Andhra Pradesh for the next 24 hours.
On the other hand, Rayalaseema and Telangana are expected to continue witnessing mainly dry weather condition. On account of the absence of rains, temperatures over these areas may also rise marginally within next 24 hours but mainly comfortable weather condition over most parts of Telangana and Rayalaseema is anticipated.
Few pockets of these areas may also receive rain and thundershowers due to localized cloud development but these rains will be of highly short duration covering localized areas.
