The three main Monsoon months have passed away but pan India rain still remains deficient due to weak rainfall activity. In fact, the Monsoon month of June was rain deficient by 5%, followed by July 6% and August again by 6%.
Monsoon rains start reducing in September as compared to the core Monsoon months of July and August. In fact, normal average rain for the month of September also stands at 173 mm.
Thus, due to reduced rains in September, it becomes very difficult to catch up with the ongoing rain deficiency.
Since the beginning of September, rains have been confined to the central and northern parts of India i.e. Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR region.
Moreover, in the coming days from September 5 to September 10, rainfall activities would reduce further and stay confined to the central and eastern parts of India. Meanwhile, the southern and western parts i.e. Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharastra will receive low intensity scattered rains.
During this time, Northeast India is expected to receive heavy rains, as the Monsoon trough is likely to shift close to the hills of Northeast India.
We can say that as the rainfall activity will now reduce over almost all parts of the country, with some light spells here and there. Thus, we expect rain deficiency to increase even more during the coming days.
