Comparably, scattered showers occurred over Madhya Maharashtra along with isolated light to very light rain over Marathwada region.

In span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Mahabaleshwar and Gondia recorded 80 mm and 53 mm of rains respectively, while Chandrapur saw light rain of11 mm, followed by Buldhana 10 mm, Alibag 10 mm, Udgir 8 mm, Pune 7 mm, Amravati 7 mm, Dahanu 6 mm, Satara 5 mm, Harnai 5 mm, Wardha 3 mm and Mumbai 3 mm.

Now, the weathermen at Skymet Weather expect rains to drop across the entire state of Maharashtra. Despite this, light rains may continue over Vidarbha, Konkan and parts of Madhya Maharashtra. Herein, cities like Nagpur, Akola, Gondia, Ratnagiri, Mahabaleshwar, Sangli and Satara may get to see the rainy spells.

We do not count on heavy rainfall in any region of Maharashtra during the next few days. Certainly, the enticing city of India, Mumbai would too see one or two short spells of rains.

There is a chance of moderate to heavy showers over the hilly region of Maharashtra, for instance Mahabaleshwar. Contrarily, almost the entire state would witness subdued Monsoon activities now.

As on September 2, the state of Maharashtra has observed normal rainfall to the tune of 2%. Division-wise, Konkan & Goa recorded 6%, Madhya Maharashtra 5%, Marathwada 3% along with Vidarbha with a mere of -1%.
